RAC Update – 10/10/2006
The masons are working on the southern vertical duct chase. The steel beams and cribbing that were supporting the northeastern corner of the Mansion’s main block have been removed and Kevin is replacing the barred-window frames.
About half of the duct work has being installed in the garret.
The forms for the poured-concrete vault are being set and drainage is being installed.
M-111 (Back Chamber)
Mac Ward, Steve Chronister and Les Lamois have finished laying the floors in this space.
M-110 (Period I Stairs)
Mac and Steve are preparing to frame the period I stairs
Austin has started to replace the principle rafter that continues into the portico from the main block’s roof.
New heart pine decking is being laid on first floor deck.
The decking panels continue to be installed and preparations are being made for installing the Chinese rails.
Red Room Re-Installation
The Red Room Chimney piece has arrived at the visitor center un-harmed and it should be installed this week.
