RAC Update – 3/5/2007
Work on the electrical, fire suppression, VESDA, and temperature/humidity monitoring systems continues.
Installation of the subterranean fiberglass ductwork in the cellar has almost been completed.
The membrane covering for the roof and sides of the bunker is being installed and the concrete steps leading into the bunker have been poured.
M-104 (Mr. Madison’s Room)
The masons are installing re-used riven lath in this space and preparing the existing lath to receive the new plaster.
M-001 (Dolley’s Kitchen)
The masons are installing re-used heart-pine lath as needed on the ceiling (mostly on the southern portion of the ceiling)
M-105 (New Dining Room)
Keith Forrey has finished repairing the flooring in front of this fireplace.
The Madison era trim that was originally installed in the north and south arched doorways leading from this space are being prepared for re-installation.
M-201 (Large Bedroom)
The masons have finished working on this fireplace..
Mac Ward is installing the door casing between these two rooms.
Bill Bichell continues to repair window stools and window boxes for the wing windows.
Ed Gomez and Austin Atrim are installing the fretwork for the Chinese rails on the North wing deck. They are approximately halfway through.
Matt Reeves’ crew has inaugurated their season this week by beginning an investigation of the lawn on the west side of the icehouse/temple.
