Installing the Chinese Railing

 

RAC Update – 3/22/2007

HVAC/MEP 

Work on the electrical, fire suppression, VESDA, and temperature/humidity monitoring systems continues and portions of the duct and MEP channels in the cellar are being infilled.

The interior of the vault is being painted and the geothermal heat exchanger/air handlers are being installed.

M-001 (Dolley’s Kitchen)

The masons continue to install re-used lath as needed on the ceiling of this space. 

M-104 (Mr. Madison’s Room) 

The masons continue to install the re-used riven lath in this space and are preparing the existing lath to receive the new plaster.

M-107 (Entry) 

The Madison era trim for the north and south arched doorways leading from this space continue to be being prepared for re-installation.

M-200 (Small Bedroom) 

Wayne Mays has finished reconstructing the fireplace in this room. 

M-207 (Old Library) 

Bill Bichell has started to repair the period I chimney piece for this room.

M-212 (Southwestern Chamber) 

Bill Bichell has finished repairing the period I chimney piece in this bedroom (a portion of the cap and one of the styles had been truncated by a duPont partition).

M-211 (Southeastern Chamber) 

Mac Ward is installing the trim for the room’s window, including new jambs and stool.

South Wing Deck 

Keith Forrey is installing the exterior trim for the door into the Southeastern Chamber.

Chinese Railings

Ed Gomez and Austin Atrim have almost finished installing the Chinese rails.
